LLB Internship Programme 2025 – Apply for Government of India Legal Internship

About the Internship
The Department of Legal Affairs (DOLA) organizes an Internship Programme for young law students and graduates. This internship aims to provide practical exposure to the functioning of the legal system, including research, court proceedings, legal drafting, and tendering legal advice in various specialized fields of law such as:
- Constitutional & Administrative Law
- Finance Law
- Infrastructure Law
- Economic Law
- Labour Law
- Arbitration & Contract Law
Eligibility Criteria
Indian students who have:
- Passed 2nd year of a 3-year LLB program OR 3rd year of a 5-year LLB program
- Completed a Law degree from a recognized institution
- Advanced knowledge of computers (MS Office, Infographics, Adobe, etc.) preferred
Internship Duration
- The internship ordinarily lasts for one month.
- It starts from the first working day of every month, unless otherwise specified.
Internship Location
Interns will be deployed at:
- Main Secretariat, New Delhi
- Central Agency Section at Supreme Court
- Litigation HC Section at Delhi
- Branch Secretariats at Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be assigned tasks such as:
- Legal Research & Analysis – Assisting in legal research on various laws.
- Drafting & Documentation – Working on legal opinions and case summaries.
- Case Preparation – Observing court proceedings and preparing briefs.
- Departmental Assistance – Supporting legal officers in day-to-day tasks.
- Compliance & Confidentiality – Adhering to the department’s confidentiality policies.
Honorarium & Certificate
Interns may receive an honorarium of ₹1,000 upon successful completion.
Internship Certificate will be provided upon:
- 90% attendance
- Satisfactory performance & feedback from the concerned authority
Selection Process
- Maximum 50 interns will be selected each month.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via Internship Portal/email.
Dress Code & Work Hours
Formal attire required: Black trousers, white shirt, blazer (for winters), and black formal shoes.
Work hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
